Manufacturing Water Filtration Systems

Keep pumps, sprays, and production equipment running on cleaner plant water.

Manufacturing water filtration removes particulates from incoming plant water, equipment wash water, cooling loops, and reuse systems so pumps, sprays, and production equipment stay protected.

Yardney Maxi Flush screen filters and skid-mounted media filters provide backwash filtration for plant and process water.

  • Maxi Flush screens from 250 gpm and up
  • Media filters from 10 gpm and up
  • Automatic backwash cleaning
  • Serving industry since 1965

Why Manufacturing Needs Water Filtration

Manufacturing sites use water for equipment wash, cooling loops, and reuse systems, and incoming plant water can carry solids that damage pumps, clog sprays, and reduce throughput. Spray nozzles, cooling passages, and precision components are especially sensitive.

Controlling particulates early and continuously protects production equipment, reduces maintenance disruptions, and improves water reuse potential. Solids that cause plugging, abrasion, and scaling lead to shutdowns and uneven performance, so filtration supports more predictable results across varying production loads.

Benefits

Protect Production Equipment: Remove particulates that clog sprays and wear pumps.

Reduce Downtime: Fewer plugged nozzles and fouled components mean fewer shutdowns.

Support Stable Quality: Keep water quality steady across shifts and production loads.

Improve Reuse Potential: Cleaner wash and process water gives reuse systems more to work with.

Yardney Maxi Flush Screen Filters for Plant Water

Yardney Maxi Flush automatic backwash screen filters give manufacturing plants high-rate filtration for industrial process water, incoming plant water, wastewater clean-up, and industrial water for plant reuse. The field-changeable stainless steel cartridge is built with burst strength in excess of 400 psi.

Fine mesh filtration reaches 200 mesh (75 microns), with cartridges from 40 to 200 mesh, at flows from 250 gpm and up. Where flows are smaller or finer filtration is needed, Yardney sand media and multi media filters start at 10 gpm.

Plant Water Filtration Process

  • Incoming or recirculating plant water is routed through the filter ahead of the equipment it protects.
  • Suspended solids collect on the stainless steel wedgewire cartridge or in the media bed.
  • Automatic backwash, set by elapsed time or pressure differential, flushes the captured solids away.
  • Solids leave through the backwash outlet, and the filter returns to service.

Filtration removes particulates, not dissolved minerals. Where scale or microbial growth is a concern, pair filtration with the water treatment program for that system.

Filtration Technology Options

Maxi Flush Screen: down to 75 microns, 40 to 200 mesh cartridges, flows from 250 gpm, automatic backwash

Sand Media: organic and inorganic suspended solids down to 20 microns; flows from 10 gpm; backwash runs one tank at a time

Multi Media: organic and inorganic suspended solids down to 5 microns; backwash starts automatically by elapsed time or pressure differential

Manufacturing Filtration FAQs

What is manufacturing water filtration?

It removes suspended particulates from the water a plant uses for equipment wash, cooling loops, and reuse, so pumps, sprays, and production equipment stay protected.

Common points are incoming plant water, equipment wash water, cooling loops, and reuse systems. The right point depends on which equipment needs protection.

Match the filter to the water: Maxi Flush screens for higher flows and fine mesh down to 75 microns, sand media filters down to 20 microns, and Multi Media down to 5. Send Yardney your flow and solids data for a recommendation.

Yardney lists industrial water for plant reuse as an application for its media and screen filters. The water quality you need depends on the process you are feeding.

Filtration removes suspended particulates that contribute to plugging and abrasion. It does not remove dissolved minerals, so scale control still needs water treatment designed for your system.
