Yardney Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) filtration systems use the absorptive qualities of the media to remove highly dispersed compounds from water sources too small for the removal with standard multi-media filtration technology. These automatic filtration systems are extremely effective in removing chlorine and chlorine related compounds, organic chemicals, tastes and odors, halogenated organic compounds, hydrocarbons and other highly dispersed contaminants. Yardney GAC filtration systems utilize a vertical side shell depth of 72 inches. All Yardney industrial media filters utilize our simple backwash system for ease of operation and consistent water quality. The Yardney automatically controlled filter systems operate for extended periods of time prior to a short backwash cycle.
Yardney industrial filtration systems are shipped as a complete finished assembled and packaged unit. Each system is skid mounted with tanks, valves, manifolds, controller, tubing, electrical solenoids and removable underdrain assembled and ready for water source and power hookup.
Performance levels can be modified to remove suspended solids of a given size range consistent with desired application objectives.
Superior filter performance is achieved by the added features of a larger inlet, two-stage deflector, 14″ media bed depth, gravel pack and a hydraulically balanced underdrain to produce a low pressure drop which will produce longer run times between backwashes.
Superior backwash performance is achieved by the use of a hydraulically balanced under-drain and gravel which produces the proper lift and fluidization of the sand media bed to ensure complete release of entrapped particles which will produce a low pressure drop and longer run-times between backwashes.
